These Terms & Conditions outline how I provide services through AskElder.us. My goal is to keep everything simple, transparent, and human. By requesting help or hiring me for a task, you agree to the terms below.

1. Scope of Services

Jeff Elder via AskElder.us provides remote, screen‑based support for everyday people, small businesses, musicians, authors, and creative professionals. Services may include:

  • Everyday tech help for Windows and browser‑based tools
  • Creative and publishing admin (CD Baby, KDP, ACX, merch platforms, etc.)
  • WordPress support and cleanup
  • Salesforce admin support
  • Document, spelling, and grammar cleanup
  • AI prompt writing and guidance
  • General troubleshooting for tools that run on your screen

I’m also fine working on adult sites as long as everyone involved — including anyone depicted in the content — is 18 years of age or older.

Services do not include:

  • Hardware repair or physical device support
  • Mac / Apple support
  • In‑person work
  • Physical repairs of any kind
  • Illegal or unethical tasks
  • Hacking, password cracking, or unauthorized access

If something falls outside my lane, I’ll tell you upfront.

2. Client Responsibilities

To help me do my best work, clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and any necessary login credentials
  • Ensure they have the legal right to request changes or access to the systems involved
  • Communicate clearly about the issue or desired outcome
  • Review completed work in a timely manner

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. I strongly recommend backing up important data before any changes are made.

3. Payment Terms

Invoices are sent after the work is complete. Payment is due upon receipt and must be made online by credit card.

  • You only pay after the work is done.
  • If I cannot fix the issue, I will tell you — and you will not owe me anything.
  • If you are not happy with the work provided, please let me know before making payment so I can address it.

For larger or more complex projects, I may provide a detailed quote before beginning.

4. Cancellations

If you need to cancel a request or project:

  • Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice.
  • Cancellations made after that time may incur a $25 fee, as I will normally have already begun work.

This applies to both scheduled sessions and asynchronous project work.

5. Turnaround Time

Turnaround time varies depending on the task.
Your initial quote will include an estimated timeframe so you know what to expect.

6. Confidentiality

I keep your information private.
Any credentials or access you provide are used solely for the purpose of completing your task. I do not share, sell, or store your information beyond what is necessary to complete the work.

7. Limitation of Liability

I do my best to avoid issues and deliver accurate, reliable results. However:

  • I cannot guarantee perfect compatibility across all systems, platforms, or third‑party tools.
  • Clients assume all risk related to third‑party platforms, hosting environments, software conflicts, and system instability.
  • I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss or downtime.

If something unexpected comes up, I’ll communicate clearly and work with you to find a solution.

8. Right to Refuse Service

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue service at my discretion, including situations involving inappropriate behavior, unsafe requests, harassment, discrimination, hateful content, illegal activity, or any violation of these terms.

9. Age Requirement

Clients must be 18 years or older to request or receive services.

10. Communication

Official communication for service requests should be made through:

  • The contact form on AskElder.us
  • Email sent to the address listed on the site

This ensures nothing gets lost and all details are documented.

11. Delivery of Work

Completed work may be delivered through:

  • Email
  • Shared files (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Direct changes made to your system or account

The method depends on the nature of the task.

12. Geographic Scope

AskElder.us currently provides services within the United States only.

13. Updates to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time.
Continued use of services means you accept the most current version.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
